Our trip out to Calgary is going well. On Friday night we (Heather, my sister, her husband Chris and I) met up with friends Jeff and Susi for some sushi down at the Sukana Grill.
The sushi and company were great as always for course. For some reason there were lots of birthdays at the Sukana grill that night. My sister lucked out not having her birthday until Saturday … or did she. She missed out on wearing the rubber samurai hat and having the staff sing happy birthday her.
Saturday was spent looking at show homes and getting some sensible shoes for Heather. For some reason Heather didn’t think there would be much walking or standing involved (our first hour in Calgary was at a St. Patty’s Day tent party drinking beer!) and her 2 inch [Correction! Three and a half inch heels ... guys just don't get it - DK] heels on her boots were starting to bug her feet.
We found some great shoes that I’ll upload a picture of when I get home tomorrow.
We capped of a great Saturday with dinner at Earl’s watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at Fo’s house.
Sunday was fun, did a little shopping and checked out some million dollar show homes. I have to say that the walk out basements were pretty sweet even if the Geoligists (Sis and her Hubby), think that building on a glacial deposit is asking for trouble.
I think that Heather is getting stressed out about going home tomorrow though and facing not having a job, having to drive out to her old job, face her old employer and get her tools. I’m not looking forward to that either but we have to move forward and get her on track to another job and then foccus on our wedding.
Things I think will be much brighter in the next few months for Heather and I.
